HOMOEOPATHY FAILS TESTS

Two new UK studies challenge the clinical value of homoeopathy. A 16-week double-blind comparison of homeopathic immunotherapy with placebo in 242 people with asthma and house dust mite allergy found no significant differences in lung function, quality of life or mood.

Asthma improved in all patients overall, but inexplicably, those receiving the homeopathic formulation experienced alternating deterioration and improvement.

An analysis of clinical trials of homeopathy by the British National Health Services, concluded that there is not sufficient evidence to show that homoeopathy is effective.
