ALLERGY TREATMENT FUNDED

Another allergy treatment for hayfever sufferers will be fully funded on the Pharmaceutical Schedule from February 2002.

Pharmac has awarded a tender to Pacific Pharmaceuticals for the non-sedating histamine, loratadine (Lora-tabs).

Pharmac medical director Dr Peter Moodie said the decision will free up more than $1 million over two and a half years.
