FAMILY PLANNING WEBSITES LAUNCHED
Prime Minister Helen Clark this week launched the Family Planning Association's new websites designed to further the organisation's role of providing information about sexual and reproductive health.
FPA executive director Dr Gill Greer said the new sites are an important addition to the work the FPA does.
"The internet is a powerful medium for an organisation like FPA because it allows people to anonymously access information on the most personal of issues from which to make informed choices."
The new websites are www.fpanz.org.nz and . The first carries a full description of FPA, its work, information about the clinics and education centres and the range of FPA resources, plus a "need help now" section to address urgent questions.
The second site is the FPA international development site providing information on population and development issues relating to sexual and reproductive health.
These two sites are supported by a third, www.theword.org.nz, which was designed in 1997 for young people to provide them with accurate information about sexuality, sexual health and relationships.
