GUILD LAUNCHES COUNSELLING GUIDE

The Pharmacy Guild has introduced a new compliance tool - the Pharmacist Only Medicines Counselling Guide.

The flipchart guide is designed to sit on the dispensary counter for the pharmacist to refer to. Indications or symptoms are listed alphabetically on one side, and pharmacist-only medicines on the other. Each topic or medicine is reviewed.

This is not a knee-jerk reaction to the recent Target TV programme. Resource development manager Diane King, has been working on the project since last year.

This is our commitment to the ongoing safety of our communities," says guild president Gray Maingay.

The flipchart includes nine topics, covering almost half of the Pharmacist Only medicines. This will be added to each month, and eventually the flipchart will cover 18 topics.
