GUILD OF HONOUR FOR CEO
Pharmacy Guild chief executive Murray Burns, was made an honorary member of the guild at last month's AGM.
Immediate past president, Gray Maingay made the presentation, and said Murray Burns had brought the guild focus.
"From his first day six years ago, he has been well-informed. Murray entered the guild at a time of intense change, and has dealt with contract, ownership and quality issues. He has been committed to the profession."
Murray Burns said it was a great honour to be recognised in this way.
"I've appreciated working with pharmacists who are doing fantastic jobs around the country. I accept this for the entire guild team."
He is only the third person in guild history to be made an honorary member. Former guild executive director Bruce Jenkin, and Douglas Pharmaceuticals managing director Graeme Douglas, are also honorary members.
The guild will present Murray Burns with a commemorative gift later this year.
