EDUCATING RITA... RON, REX, ROBYN...
The Pharmacy Guild is readying itself for the battle to win the hearts and minds of New Zealanders as the public debate over ownership looms.
The guild is expected to launch a television campaign later this month aimed at strengthening the relationship between pharmacy and the public.
Guild chief executive Murray Burns says the campaign will re-establish pharmacy's once high profile in light of the expected public debate over the government's planned ownership changes.
He declined to give details on the content of the TV campaign.
The campaign will be part of a long-term multi-media strategy, he says.
Another part of the guild's strategy is the continual lobbying of political parties and individual MPs on ownership and pharmacy's role in primary care.
