News Update for week ending 26 April 2002

AUSSIE SEX THERAPIST

Sex education specialist Dr Rosie King is currently touring New Zealand to help doctors here overcome their concerns when it comes to talking to their patients about sex.

She is a fellow of the Australasian College of Sexual Health Physicians, and is well known as an author, academic, educator and researcher in sexual therapy.

"New Zealand doctors aren't the only ones who are reserved about sexual health issues, but they are more reticent than those in many other countries," she says.

She will be educating local GPs about "Managing issues of sexual health" at seminars in Auckland, Palmerston North, and Christchurch. GPs will also be reminded how to diagnose and manage erection problems.

Rosie King's visit is being sponsored by Pfizer, makers of Viagra.
