BEAN COUNTER SPREADS WINGS

An accountant will soon be winging his way to the UK to compare New Zealands health funding mechanism with the UKs. Auckland senior lecturer in management accounting Paul Rouse has been awarded a travel grant by the Institute of Chartered Accountants to do the study. He will look specifically at the mechanisms that distribute funding to acute hospitals, with a special focus on the costing systems used by health providers.
