RESEARCH MEDAL AWARDED

Auckland University School of Pharmacy Associate Professor Janie Sheridan has received a prestigious award from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

She will receive the Chemist and Druggist Conference Practice Research Award Medal for her research in drug addiction and misuse, at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in Manchester in September.

Janie Sheridan, who lectures in pharmacy practice, joined the staff of the School of Pharmacy in March this year after working as a research fellow at the Institute of Addiction Studies at Maudsley Hospital, London. Prior to that she was a teacher practitioner for Boots in the UK, organising on-site training for pharmacy students working in the community.
