DISCIPLINARY HEARINGS

Five pharmacists will appear before the Pharmaceutical Society's disciplinary committee, after failing to follow correct procedures when selling Pharmacist Only medicine, Cataflam.

The disciplinary hearings follow the secret filming of pharmacies by the TV 3 consumer watchdog programme, Target.

Actors visited 10 Auckland pharmacies, which were assessed on whether the pharmacist was involved in the sale, the correct questions were asked, and the customer's details recorded. Six pharmacies failed the criteria.

The dates of the five hearings have not been set.
